Child Services Special Projects manager
The Early Childhood Mental Health Team Lead holds clinical and administrative responsibilities within the Early Childhood Mental Health (ECMH) program for the Early Learning Coalition of Northwest Florida (ELCNWF). The team lead provides and supports ECMH in the ELCNWF service area and supervises a team of specialists and other ECMH staff.
Essential Duties and Qualifications:
- Manage all Child Services Special Projects components, including ensuring that children and families receive high-quality services and follow-up as needed and that accurate records of all program activities are maintained.
- Supervise assigned staff, which includes program leads and direct service staff.
- Maintain active caseloads and allocate time to direct participant services as a team member, including direct work in the community and with staff as needed in grant and contract programs.
- Assist in developing and evaluating planning and monitoring activities and program policies and procedures, as well as ensuring that assigned programs meet all grant, contract, and funder requirements.
- Provide ongoing training and technical assistance to support the implementation of the services required.
- Ensure programs maintain full enrollment; monitor enrollment and attendance/participation.
- Lead daily and weekly team meetings as requested or needed.
- Coordinate and develop strategic alliances with community providers.
- Conduct outreach to community providers.
- Collaborate with other leadership and direct service staff to ensure continuity of care for families and comprehensive and inclusive services for all children.
- Create and implement data collection systems and analyze program data to guide decisions for continuous quality improvement of program outcomes, child goals, and family/community services.
- Assess department training needs and coordinate or identify applicable training opportunities for staff.
- Participate in developing and managing the program budget, including monitoring and recommending program expenses, inventory control, purchasing all supplies and equipment, and recommending budget revisions.
- Complete regular reports that identify progress in meeting program goals and service delivery data; assist with grant applications and other essential reporting as required by the funder or director.
- Provide mental health psychotherapy services to children 0-5 and their families, including Child Parent Relationship Therapy using identified therapeutic models.
- Ensure completion of all documentation requirements, including but not limited to clinical notes, assessments, intakes, and records requests within required timeframes.
- Provide psychoeducation about development, trauma, and strategies that support children’s emotional well-being to caregivers, including parents and educators.
- Provide early childhood mental health consultation to classrooms, family childcare providers, home educators, and other community-based providers to support children with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
Education and Experience
- Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related behavioral science field.
- At least two years of direct clinical service providing mental health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to children ages 0 to 5 and families is preferred.
- Florida license to practice Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy preferred.
- At least 3 years of supervisory or program management experience using a reflective practice approach is preferred.
