Early Childhood Mental Health Team Lead
The Early Childhood Mental Health Team Lead holds clinical and administrative responsibilities within the Early Childhood Mental Health (ECMH) program for the Early Learning Coalition of Northwest Florida (ELCNWF). The team lead provides and supports ECMH in the ELCNWF service area and supervises a team of specialists and other ECMH staff.
Essential Duties and Qualifications:
- Assist with identification and linkage for children in center-based, home-based, and community-based settings who would benefit from infant and early childhood mental health intervention services.
- Provide mental health psychotherapy services to children 0-5 and their families, including Child Parent Relationship Therapy and other identified therapeutic models.
- Complete all documentation requirements, including but not limited to clinical notes, assessments, intakes, and records requests within required timeframes.
- Provide psychoeducation about development, trauma, and strategies that support children’s emotional well-being to caregivers, including parents and educators.
- Provide early childhood mental health consultation to classrooms, family childcare providers, home educators, and other community-based providers to support children with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
- Assist in providing internal and external training.
- Promote classroom management and teacher practices using classroom observations, reflection, and consultations to address teacher and individual child needs and create physical and cultural environments that encourage mental health, positive social interactions, and emotional functioning.
- Conduct observations and consultations in a home visiting setting to meet the client’s mental health and social-emotional needs.
- Travel and provide services in different locations including home, center, office community, and virtual.
- Oversee team of specialists and provide regular guidance that includes discussion and feedback about referrals, case management, documentation, timeliness, deadlines, professionalism, and other performance expectations.
- Manage referral process for specific cases including tracking and reporting for grant and community funders.
- Ensure the quality of work meets clinical, program, organizational, productivity, confidentiality, mandated reporting and HIPPA standards.
- Support or intervene with mental health or behavioral crises, including with situations related to mandated reporting and any suspected child abuse.
- Attend supervision, training, and other meetings as required for the program.
Education and Experience
- Clinical licensure as an LMHC, LCSW, or LMFT in the state of Florida.
- Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related behavioral science field.
- At least two years of direct clinical service providing mental health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to children ages 0 to 5 and families is preferred.
- At least 2 years of clinical supervisory or program management experience using a reflective practice approach is preferred.
- Experience leading staff, including giving constructive feedback, managing performance, and completing performance appraisals.

Salary Range: $59,000 - $63,000 annually
